Workshops
Conservators in our firm can produce and deliver workshops on collections care, conservation programming, and artist materials.
We have delivered lectures on conservation techniques, conservation surveys, conservation assessment, disaster recovery, and the care of public art to such museum bodies as the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property, the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, and ICOM (the International Council of Museums).Over the history of our firm, we have taught over 70 conservation workshops to museums and organizations including the British Columbia Museums Association, the Federated Alliance of Museums (Washington, DC) and the Virginia Museums Association.
Some of the topics we have covered in past workshops are Care of Mixed Collections, Museum Storage, Materials and Techniques, Examination and Condition Reporting, and Care of Archival Collections. We have also delivered lectures and workshops to artists on the longevity of artist materials and techniques and producing lasting artwork to bodies such as CARFAC (the Canadian Artist Representation) and the Surrey Arts Guild (BC).
We presently provide workshop instruction on a very limited basis.
