Fraser Spafford Ricci Art & Archival Conservation Inc. specializes in the restoration and preservation of fine art and archival material for private collectors, corporations and public institutions. Our approach is practical – we find realistic conservation solutions tailored to the singular characteristics of the object and the needs of the owner.

We are uniquely qualified to address the preservation and restoration of multi-media collections and mixed media objects. By bringing together the knowledge and skill of different conservation specialties, we have managed the preservation and restoration of over 20 collections held by corporations and institutions in British Columbia and across Canada and the United States.

We offer a broad range of conservation services:

  • examination and treatment of paintings, paper and sculpture, including procedures such as cleaning, repair, restoration, documentation, preservation and preparation of items for exhibit or storage;
  • consulting services in preventive conservation, conservation assessment and surveys, and disaster planning;
  • design and delivery of conservation workshops for museum custodians, archivists and artists.

The company was incorporated in 1997. The professional staff at Fraser Spafford Ricci are highly trained in the theory and practice of art conservation. Our principal conservators have over 40 years of combined experience conserving art and historical material in some of the finest conservation laboratories in North America and Europe. The conservators are members of and adhere to the Code of Ethics for the Canadian Association of Conservators and the American Institute for Conservation.
